 Montvale-
Back in the day when the former "Huff's Ice Cream Bar" (across from Montvale Bowling Lanes) was the local gathering place for families on hot Summer nights, the residents of Montvale enjoyed an old fashioned community atmosphere. Times have changed and the town has grown but many families can still enjoy the same Old Time atmosphere of those days long ago.
The borough offers a broad and diversified program of activities for everyone old and young alike. Starting with the Four parks offering such activities as tennis, basketball, soccer, football, baseball, roller hockey & softball to name a few. Montvale is also the home of the Montvale Roller Rink, which is now gone but picutres of it remain here, closing one of the largest indoor year round skating surfaces in the country. Also the last Roller Rink in Bergen County. It will be missed by many people from all age groups. If you enjoy bowling than you can find that too at the Montvale Bowling Lanes. And for the horse lover, Mar-Bel Stables offers riding and stabling services. Outdoor Pool facilites are available to Montvale residents on a membership fee basis by the privately run Montvale Swim Club. For the active Senior, the Montvale Senior Club has various trips and activities.
Although the borough is just four square miles it is just 15 miles from NYC via the George Washington Bridge. Located on New York's Rockland County border, the town enjoys access such highways as the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, the NY Thruway, Interstate Hwy 80, Palisades Parkway and Route 17. The Red and Tan Lines also offers service into NYC. And the Montvale Train Station offers commuter rail service from the center of town.
Pascack Hills High School is one of the area's top rated schools with students grades 9-12 from Montvale and Woodcliff Lake in attendance.

Animal House >Houses and Pets
Many real estate agents are animal lovers and have pets of our own, but we have all shared stories of having our fingers or ankles nipped by furry creatures during a showing. We have opened the front door to the home we are showing only to have a purebred Persian kitten scoot toward the nearest busy street.
If you have pets and are going to put your house on the market, be sure to work out the showing arrangements carefully. It is important for us to be able to communicate to our colleagues what to expect when they pass through your front door. It is rare for pets to pose significant problems, but big dogs can be menacing. Buyers or agents may be allergic or even a little phobic about dogs or cats.
It is difficult to get a buyer excited about your home if he or she is sneezing continuously or unwilling to cross the threshold because your dog is barking away intruders. If your agent knows there might be a problem, they can arrange ahead of time for you to walk the dog, vacuum the cat dander or do whatever is necessary to make sure that the showing goes smoothly.
